Poole's Plus is an information retrieval service designed for scholars, bibliographers and the needs of research institutions. Access is by annual subsricption from your institutions IP address.

Subscriptions to Poole's Plus site is based upon the classification on the 1994 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. ( www.carnegiefoundation.org/cihe )

This classification "groups American colleges and universities according to their missions," and,
most important, reflects the distincitions among institutions according to the degree of research conducted therein.
